Dade Area Attractions

Here you can wake up to nature's quiet splendor and cook breakfast on the grill before a lovely morning hike in Cloudland Canyon, or you can choose from a bevy of things to see and do where Tennessee, Alabama, and Georgia meet (the area cleverly known as "TAG" to a creative few!).

Two major state and federal parks are currently located here in Dade County. They are Cloudland Canyon State Park, a 2,120 acre facility that provides overnight camping, hiking, swimming, tennis, and picnic areas. The other facility, a federal park, is the Chickamauga and Chattanooga Military Park. This facility is one of the nation's oldest, largest, and most visited National Parks. Dedicated as a National Park in 1890, it is the site of the famous Civil War battle fought here in 1863.
