The city of Trenton and Dade County enjoy a rich and colorful history in northwest Georgia. Trenton was officially incorporated in 1854 and is centrally located in Dade County. Dade County is 168 square miles in size and is a member of the Coosa Valley Regional Development Centerand Northwest Georgia Joint Development.

 

Trenton is located roughly twenty miles from downtown Chattanooga, Tennessee and shipping access via the Tennessee River, and only thirty miles from Chattanooga's Lovell Field Airport. CSX rail sidings are available if needed. The city of Atlanta is one hundred thirty miles southeast of Dade County. Major north and south routes through Dade are US Interstate 59 and US Highway 11. East and west corridors include State Highway 136 and US Interstate 24.

Currently the Three largest employers in Dade County are:

  1. Gill Industries (Automotive and Furniture Parts) 
  2.  Dade School System
  3. Covenant College (Private Presbyterian College)  

The work force of Trenton and Dade County is a very broad one with occupations covering the spectrum from farming to real estate, and the area has a diversified economic base.  

Overall, economic and industrial activity is stable and should continue to expand. Along with Interstate 59, the location of the Norfolk Southern Railway and easy access to the growing Chattanooga, Atlanta, and Birmingham metro areas, Trenton and Dade County is in a most enviable position for growth and development.
