Dade County is governed by a five person Board consisting of four District Commissioners and one at large elected Commissioner that also serves as the County Executive. The center of county government is the Administration Building and Justice Building (706-657-4625) located on Case Avenue in Trenton. Other county government offices are housed in the Courthouse (706-657-2616) which stands on the town square.

A four person elected commission and an elected mayor govern the city of Trenton, the county seat. Offices of city government, including the mayor's office, city government, police department, and building / zone inspector are housed in City Hall (706-657-4167) located on N. Main St.
